Orthodontics

Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry that deals with the treatment of malocclusions, that is, orthodontics through some specific devices stimulates the physiological growth of the jaw bones in the younger patient and in the adult patient and modifies the dental arches and the relationship between the jaw bones pursuing the achievement of the physiology and state of health and well-being of the patient.

The various types of orthodontic treatments:
• Aligners
Modern orthodontic technique that uses 3D technology and the creation of aligners (transparent removable masks) that allow orthodontic problems to be solved in a very effective way and with optimal aesthetic impact.
Thanks to a predefined and personalized series of transparent aligners, created with simulation programs, it is possible to develop orthodontic movements and solve aesthetic and functional problems.
Each aligner is programmed to perform a micro-movement and by following the progression order, the teeth move to the pre-established position.

• Fixed orthodontics
The most classic and effective method is fixed orthodontics, with the traditional dental appliance consisting of metal or ceramic plates (brackets) glued to the front of the tooth and wires passing through the entire arch, or with palatal appliances. The use of these appliances serves to transmit traction to the teeth in order to bring them into the correct position.

• Aesthetic orthodontics
To obtain the benefits of orthodontics with the best possible aesthetic impact, materials that blend in with the natural white of the teeth can be used.
The main materials used for aesthetic orthodontics are sapphire, ceramic and zirconium, with various combinations of these materials for brackets and wire.

• Removable orthodontics
Mobile orthodontics, on the other hand, involves the use of removable dental appliances by the patient.
It mainly deals with devices consisting of a resin base into which metal hooks or brackets are immersed to apply the desired traction on the teeth.
These devices can be used to correct existing teeth or to influence correct dental development (tooth eruption).
